Americanese styntonyms can be very confusing, for example:
1. Willingness to participate in an activity
A. Down
Bobby: Do you want to play basketball with us?
Xian: I’m down for that
B. Up
Bobby: Do you want to play basketball with us?
Xian: I’m up for that
Lesson: Just because they are antonyms in the dictionary, doesn’t mean that they can’t be synonyms in life.
